Butcher wins prize for his quality sausage
Local butcher John Bethney is celebrating this week, as his sausages have been given the thumbs up at a national exhibition.
Mr Bethney was given two gold awards and one silver award for his sausages at the Foodex Meatex 2006 exhibition in Birmingham, the biggest food manufacturing show in the UK.

Mr Bethney was given two gold awards and one silver award for his sausages at the Foodex Meatex 2006 exhibition in Birmingham, the biggest food manufacturing show in the UK.
He entered three types of sausage: standard pork, por and stilton and pork, apple, organic apricot and cinnamon. Th efirst two won gold awards and the last a silver.
Mr Bethney said " I put the combination of flavours togethre in my shop. I was a bit dissapointed that the cinnamon sausage didn't get gold. It was really popular."
